About Paradise Biryani

Paradise Biryani started in a canteen and a Café in a cinema theatre called Paradise in Secunderabad (twin city of Hyderabad) in 1953. Mr A Hemanti in 1978 took charge of the restaurant from his father and uncle, and thus began the growth of Paradise Biryani.

Today, Paradise Biryani has outlets in Bengaluru, Chennai, Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada and Gurugram. They are also expanding their presence in Hyderabad.

The restaurant chain has plans of growing into other cities nationally and also internationally. They want to spread and achieve their mission of serving the best Hyderabadi food. And they want to do it in a comfortable and family-friendly environment worldwide.

My review of Paradise Biryani Gurugram (Gurgaon)

I have always loved a good Hyderabad style biryani over an Awadh style biryani. Hyderabadi biryani has a more spicy punch for me. I was introduced to Paradise biryani by my friends, and ever since, I am a regular there.

Paradise Biryani offers the best Hyderabadi biryani in Gurugram (Gurgaon) at reasonable prices. Everyone in my family loves Paradise’s biryani, especially their special biryani and chicken kebabs.

I love their kebabs. They are a must-try!

Location: Ease of access and surroundings

Paradise biryani is currently open in Raheja Mall, Sohna Road, and in MG Road, Gurugram.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, most of their outlets are closed for dine-in. So check if the restaurant is open before you plan a visit.

The restaurant is next to the entrance in Raheja Mall, so you can’t miss it. Here they have a two-storey seating area with a family-friendly, aesthetic ambience. Raheja Mall is a hub for shoppers and movie buffs. So next you’re there you can have a meal at Paradise Biryani.

Ambience: Look and feel of the place

The first floor of Paradise Biryani in Raheja Mall Gurugram (Gurgaon) can be used as a waiting area for takeout or a self-service dining area. You can also grab a steaming hot cup of their legendary Irani Chai with samosas and Osmania biscuits. Osmania biscuits are a Hyderabadi classic! 

The second floor of the restaurant in Raheja Mall Gurugram (Gurgaon) is reserved for dining service. It is a family-friendly and aesthetic dining area with seating for approximately 50 people. You can either order downstairs or ask the staff to take your order here.

The interiors are bright and well lit. It has a comfortable ambience for a hearty meal with your family and friends. It has enough space that you can enjoy your meal even if the restaurant is total capacity.

Service: Staff and their service

The staff is amicable, kind and they’ll promptly answer any questions that you might have. They also know their menu inside out.

Any requests that you might have regarding the taste or quality or preparation of the food is taken very earnestly. They always make sure that you get the best food eating experience at their restaurant.

I usually add a note for the biryani to be a bit less spicy, and so far, they’ve never faltered with my requests. Their service is on time as well. You’ll never have to wait more than 30 minutes, even on a busy day.

For takeouts, too, the quality remains just as good. Since Paradise Biryani is near me, my orders usually arrive within an hour or two.

Menu: Variety in the menu and type of dishes

I regularly visit Paradise Biryani with my friends, and we have tasted almost all their dishes.

They don’t have a wide variety in their menu, which is such a letdown. The restaurant has done so well with the items that they have on their menu. One wonders what could they have done if they would add more authentic Hyderabadi dishes to their menu. I would request the restaurant’s management to increase the items on their menu.

The restaurant has a variety of biryanis, kebabs, snacks, desserts and beverages on its menu. Please make no mistake, their menu might be small, but it delivers high.

My tummy is always full, but my heart wants to eat more of their delicious Hyderabadi cuisines.

Cost: Pricing and value for money

My family’s usual order goes something like the following:

• Two non-veg biryanis.
• Two kebabs and
• One dessert.

This is more than enough for a family of three, and the total comes to about ₹1600 (excluding taxes) (Cost per head: ₹550 approx.)

The prices are pretty pocket-friendly for a city like Gurugram (Gurgaon).

Taste: Overall taste and quality of the food item

Paradise is a Hyderabadi food restaurant. Hyderabadi food has a distinct taste, and the restaurant always delivers on it. Their biryani’s rice is fluffy, non-greasy and aromatic. The meat is tender and juicy. Their biryanis are a delight to have. The kebabs, too, are succulent and rich in flavours.

I must admit their flavours are not always consistent. There has been a time when I find their food lacking in some area or another. For example, sometimes, in one plate of biryani, only one piece of meat is there.

Also, this is true more for delivery than dine-in. When I dine in, I raise a concern if I have any issues, which gets resolved immediately. But if I order food for delivery, then these inconsistencies are more prominent. Their management should look into it.

Overall, their food lives up to expectations one would have for a Hyderabadi biryani. 

Conclusion and recommendation

If you’re looking for Hyderabadi biryani and kebabs they Paradise Biryani ranks very high. They are a budget-friendly restaurant. They have a pleasing ambience, and you can comfortably enjoy a good meal here with your friends and family.

The restaurant should add more items to their menu and expand their menu. Also, if they can make their food quality consistent with each delivery order, that would be perfect.
