My review of Sibang Bakery Gurugram (Gurgaon)

I enjoy Korean cuisines, and I have been very disappointed by the lack of good Korean restaurants and cafes in Gurugram. I am also a K-drama fan. 🤩

When Sibang bakery opened up near me, I decided to give it a visit. My expectations were low because most Korean themes bakeries and restaurants that open in Gurugram had disappointed me so far. To my delight, I was pleasantly surprised by their decor and quality of Korean food items. 👍🏽

Location: Ease of access and surroundings

Sibang Bakery currently has two outlets in Gurgaon – one being in South Point Mall on Golf Course Road and the other in Mega Mall, DLF Phase 1.

Both the locations are convenient, and you can find them very quickly. The bakery in Mega Mall is located in one corner on the first floor. Thus it is tranquil and cosy there.

You can spend some time catching up on work or listen to some music and absorb the peaceful atmosphere there.

Ambience: Look and feel of the place

Our Rating:

I remember that Sibang Bakery gave me a pleasant vibe the moment I first went there. My friend and I were enchanted by Korean authenticity and all the baked goodies that were on display.

Sibang bakery’s interior has a neutral palette. The bakery aesthetic has typical Korean vibes (to all the Instagram and k-drama fans out there, you know what I mean). The colours in the bakery are shades of white, cream and brown. To sum it up, Sibang Bakery is 100% Instagram-able.

Aside from the interiors, even the way the baked delicacies are displayed excellently complements the whole feel of the bakery. The baked goodies lined up on the shelves and the gorgeous pastries on display. They all create an experience that cannot be left unaccounted for.

If the size of the bakery would have been bigger, then it would have been perfect. The space inside the bakery seems a little crammed up at times. When the bakery is at total capacity, the room to move around is significantly less. Hopefully, when they open their next outlet in Gurugram, they will go with a bigger space.

This bakery is an authentic Korean bakery, and enjoying a nice cinnamon roll here is such a peaceful experience.

Service: Staff and their service

Our Rating:

The staff here is accommodating and polite. The team will help you out with any problems you might have while ordering, especially when you don’t know the particulars of a dish.

If you have any issues with your food or beverage, the team will be happy to assist you. For example, my coffee wasn’t hot enough in two incidents, so they immediately replaced it. Whenever my friends and I had any issues, we were promptly assisted by them.

They’re always looking forward to feedback and suggestions. I find this is relatively uncommon in the restaurant industry; more restaurants should start actively taking customer feedback and suggestions. This behaviour shows that Sibang truly cares for its customers.

All my interactions with their staff have been good. They have always been friendly. You can even engage in a conversation with them if you’re visiting on your own.

Our Rating:

In Sibang Bakery, you can find everything that regular bakeries offer, like basic bread, beverages, sweets, etc. But what sets this bakery apart is their inclusion of Korean specialities such as bingsu, bean buns, mochis and soboros, which are not available elsewhere.

They also offer various vegetarian and non-vegetarian sandwiches such as the chicken ham sandwich, egg crab sandwich and mozzarella sandwich. These dishes provide a decent portion, enough for two, at a reasonable price.

If you’re looking to try something new, then I highly suggest you try out their bingsu, especially the red bean flavour. You might like it!

Overall, they have a good selection of items on their menu, but they can improve the variety of the drinks.

Cost: Pricing and value for money

Our Rating:

As with most themed cafes and bakeries out here in Gurugram(Gurgaon), its pricing is also higher. But in the restaurants and bakeries in this price range, Sibang has a fair and more acceptable price for most items and dishes.

Prices for espresso start at ₹130 and go all the way up to ₹220 (iced green tea cafe latte). Teas, smoothies, shakes and frappes also fall within the same price range.

The cakes and pastries range from ₹70 to ₹300, depending on the size. A few items, such as the cheesecake pastry and the red velvet pastry, are on the pricier side. However, the cheesecake pastry is one of their highly recommended product, so you can try it if you want to.

They generally serve a good portion of their pastries and sandwiches. But you may find the serving size less than expected for items like rolls, tarts or cakes.

On average, a meal for two may cost anywhere between ₹500 to ₹700.

Overall, I’d say that Sibang Bakery’s pricing and value for money (ROI) are better than most other Korean bakeries and restaurants in Delhi NCR. But like most of the premium bakeries, they are also on the expensive side.

Taste: Overall taste and quality of the food item

Our Rating:

Nearly all the dishes at Sibang Bakery exceed expectations in terms of taste. Their pastries are some of the best pastries available in Gurugram, and their cheesecakes are to die for (accordingly to my friend).

The mango tart has a delicate balance between sweet and tangy. Sibang Bakery’s almond tart is the perfect addition to a piping hot cup of espresso.

Sandwiches also taste delicious, the bread has excellent flavour and aroma, and the fillings are made of fresh produce.

However, the quality of beverages is average (compared to other items on the menu). The drinks are also on the expensive side. I always go for some standard beverage like a latte, green tea or lemon ice tea. I have tried their other drinks earlier but don’t care for them much now.

All their products are made in-store, with ingredients imported from Korea. Sibang is an authentic Korean bakery in Gurugram, and you can experience it here.

I tried out a couple of their pies – namely, the soboro bun and a cinnamon roll – both of which were an absolute delight to have.

Most of the times I visit, my go-to menu is their delicious buttercream bun with a nice hot cup of coffee or tea. The butter bun is an absolute delight. It’s a melt-in-your-mouth type of bread, which I love. I would recommend it to anyone visiting for the first time.

Overall, Sibang Bakery is well worth the money spent considering the taste and experience it provides.

Conclusion and recommendation
